Abstract Inhibition of pathogenic bacteria Vibro anguillarum and Pseudomonas sp.by algae Isochrysis galbana,Phaeodactylum tricornutum and Tetraselmis chuii was studied in this experiment. I. galbana and P. tricornutum 's aqueous phase, and I. galbana,P. tricornutum and T. chuii 's organic phase were found to inhibit the pathogenic strains of V. anguillarum. It was found that I. galbana,P. tricornutum and T. chuii' s organic phase showed inhibition of Pseudomonas sp . I. galbana,P. tricornutum and T. chuii had the maximal inhibitory activity on the pathogens when the algae were kept at density of about 10,000 cells/ml in larval shrimp rearing water.
