Abstract The experiment was conducted to establish the technique of indoor overwintering ,broodstock cultivation and spaw ning induction for small yellow croaker Pseudosciaena poly actis based on biological i‐dentification from 2014 to 2015 .The results showed that there were significantly higher ovary weight and gonado‐somatic index (GSI) in the experimental group than those in the control group (P<0 .05) ,indica‐ting that the GSI and relative fecundity of small yellow croaker were enhanced by feeding high‐protein diet with VC and VE .The optimum fertilization rate of 23 .35% and hatching rate of 80 .56% ,were observed by injection of LHRH‐A2and 500 IU/kg HCG at a dose of 1 .2 μg/kg .
