Abstract The activities of six enzymes were measured in accessory gonads of aquid Sepiella maindroni before and after spawn by a kit. The lactic acid dehydrogenase(LDH)(89 U/g prot vs 57 U/g prot in nidamental gland), superoxide dismutase(SOD)(78 U and 47 U/mg prot vs 51 U and 32 U/mg prot), acid phosphatase(ACP), peroxidase(POD)and catalase(CAT)were found to decrease in activities after spawning.
