Abstract Acute toxicity of Hg~(2+) ,Pb~(2+) and Zn~(2+) to rose bitterling Rhodeus ocellatus fry was studied by static bioassay test. The LC_(50) of Hg~(2+) for 24 h,48 h,72 h,and 96 h was found to be 0.6123,0.4734, 0.3921,and 0.3621 mg/L for the fry,respectively;LC_(50) of Pb~(2+) 14.1421,13.7405,13.5261,and 13.1867 mg/L and LC_(50) of Zn~(2+) 24.4688,20.3542,19.5449,and 17.8608 mg/L,respectively. The safety concentrations of Hg~(2+) ,Pb~(2+) and Zn~(2+) were found to be 0.0362,1.3186,and 1.7861 mg/L, respectively.
