Abstract:The artificial breeding of Schlegel’s rockfish Sebastes schlegeli was on the first time conducted in Tianjin ,and impacts of different environmental factors on the artificial breeding were studied .The fry were reared in 9 indoor tanks where artificial reefs were disposed ,where light was controlled or where were under normal light as a control to evaluate the effects of reef and light on the survival ,grow th and aggregation of the fish .During the experiment ,50 broodstocks were induced to spawn ,650 000 newly hatched larvae were obtained ,and 111 ,200 juveniles with total length of 3 cm were reared in 75 days with survival rate of 17 .1% .High aggregation of the fish was found in the indoor tanks where the artificial reefs were disposed .There were no significant differences in survival (18% -18 .57% ) and growth (at growth rate of 0 .037 -0.035 cm/d) in the tanks where artificial reefs were disposed compared with the normal group .Meanwhile ,better growth was observed under light intensity of about 34-65 lx than under light intensity of some 0 .2-3 .0 lx .
