Abstract:One pathogenic bacterium was isolated from diseased leech Whitmania pigra using aseptic technique, and identified by VITEK-32 automatic microorganism identification and susceptibility system based on the physiological and biochemical characteristics.Drug sensitive tests to Enterobacter cloacae were investigated for seven types of antibiotics (Compound sulfamethoxazole,Gentamicin, Norfloxacin, Amikacin Sulfate, Tetracycline, Enrofloxacin,and Doxycycline).The results showed that the bacterium E. cloacae was found to be the pathogenic microorganism and to be sensitive to Norfloxacin. The disease was controlled by feeding the diet containing Norfloxacin at a dose of 50 mg/kg for 5 successive days,together with chlorine dioxide disinfectant,and the symptoms disappeared three days after administration.
