Abstract：The effects of N,P,microelements and vitamins on the growth of alga Heterosigma akashiwo were investigated by orthogonal designed test. The results showed that the effect range of various nutritional factors was in a descent order ranged as the following:P＞vitamins＞N＞microelements in exponential and stationary phase and N＞P＞vitamins＞microelements in decline phase. In exponential phase,the optimal concentration of N,P,microelements and vitamins was found to be 880,18,10.55 and 0.32 μmol/L,and 2640,108,21.1,and 0.96 μmol/L in stable and decline phases,respectively. The nutritional factors had significant effect on growth of the alga ( P <0.01) during various phases and the effect of the nutritional factors on the alga bloom were discussed in detail.
