Abstract:The correlation coefficients were measured and calculated among shell volume( x_1) ,test diameter( x_2) ,shell height( x_3) ,and the live body weight( y ) in 66 samples of sea urchin Strongylocentrotus intermedius during 13 months. The results showed that 3 correlation coefficients between each shell character and the live body weight were all very significant differences( P <0.01) . The test diameter( x_2) showed predominant effect( P_2=0.778) on the live body weight. The shell volume( x_1) gave slightly direct effect and indirect effect on the live body weight. Depended on the check on path analysis,shell volume( x_1) had no significant in multiple regression equation. It was clear from the results of high correlation index(R~2=0.8978) that the truthful relationship between the independent variables( x_2 and x_3) and the dependent variable( Y ) was revealed by the path coefficient analysis. The multiple regression equation to estimate live body weight as y -21.78+1.035 x_1+0.188 x_2. This paper provides theoretical evidence and perfect measure target for breeding of sea urchins.
